Lynne Dobinson was born in Newcastle and grew up immersed in the natural beauty of coastal Australia. The giddy heights of Dudley Bluff and the cool rockpools below stirred the artist within her from the beginning. Combining her creativity and logic, Lynne chose to study Visual Communication Design at Sydney College of the Arts (now University of Technology, Sydney) where she graduated top of her year with first class honours. Lynne's commercial experience began in the Sydney creative industry in type studios and high-end design agencies. From there she established her own design studio ‘Callisto Design Group’, first in Sydney and currently in Newcastle. After three children and many years in the design business, the calling for total freedom of expression grew too strong to ignore. Lynne finally confronted the blank canvas that had been eyeing her for a long while, and set her creative spirit free. The result is a body of work that explores the latent designs of our world, our workings and our existence. The contradiction of connection and separation that resides in Flight of Fancy, and the core-of-life cell splitting in Split Decision are just two of Lynne’s unique works. ENJOY. |
